Dr VAN served as an Expert Faculty for a one day hands-on workshop on "Building a digital twin — a virtual representation of a real-world system, process, or object using open-source tools and free cloud tiers" (9th November 2025) conducted by the Department of Water Resources Development and Management, IIT Roorkee. Around 20 PG and PhD research scholars from various department attended the workshop and got trained in Digital Twin and SWM. Prof K S Kasiviswanathan and Prof Thangaraj Chelliah (Head - WRDM) offered their valuable guidance in the conduct of the Workshop. Mr Vijay Co-ordinated the workshop.

Dr VAN also visited TVS Sensing Solutions Pvt ltd, Vellaripatti, Madurai on the same day and discussed Dr Balaji Venkataraman, President at TVS Sensing Solutions Private Limited and Director at Fiber Optic Sensing Solutions about the possibilities of consultancy services in the domain of IIoT and IoT Security related projects.

Dr VAN served as a resource person in the CAREERFEST 2024 jointly organised by the Rotary Club of Pattukottai and Elevate Career Visionaries on 11th May 2024 at raja Mahal, Pattukottai. Around 130 students along with their parents attended the CAREERFEST 2024 and interacted with career counsellors and got guidance. It will be a continuous process and participants will get training for necessary soft skills also.

Dr VAN conducted two days hands-on Value added course on "Application Development using Arduino" for I year B.E CSE (Cyber Security) (2023-27 batch) of PSNA College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore during 26th and 27th March 2024. Around 63 students attended this hands-on VAC. Resource persons covered various application design including the key concepts of Embedded Systems, Networks and IoT using Arduino Platform (ESP32). Ms Subathra from JRM Technologies served as the Co-Trainer.
Dr VAN condcuted a special Career Guidance and Counselling sessions for diferetly abled (Hearing and Specch impaired) +2 students of Avai Ashram, Sivasailam, Tenkasi district on 23rd March 2024 along with Dr Venkatesh Raman. Dr VAN attended One day LDRA Seminar on "Compliance and Beyond: Pioneering Safety and Security in Embedded Software Development" on March 19th, 2024, in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. As a part of the seminar, detailed discussion on Safe and Secure Coding, Requirements Driven Testing, Process Compliance, Certification, Tool Selection and achieving Process Compliance using LDRA tools were done.
Dr VAN delivered a technical session on "Design of End and Edge Nodes for Smart Agriculture" on 16th March 2024 as a part of three days CEFIPRA-FUNDED JOINT INDO-FRENCH WORKSHOP Making Smart Irrigation Affordable for Small Farmers via Machine Learning . This workshop aims to bring together researchers from the academia and the industry, extension agents, and farmers in the fields of irrigation, ecology, sensors, IoT, and artificial intelligence in order to exchange ideas and develop concrete proposals for academia-industry-farmer partnerships in research projects that will lead to technologies relevant to real-world smallholder farms. Around thirty research from different apart of India and France participated and presented their research ideas. nearly five proposals are under process for funding.

IoT and CPS Lab was inaugurated on 6th May 2022 and Dr VAN along with Mr K Sankar, MD of Mathimiigal Tech (p) Ltd., conducted two days hands-on workshop (offline) on IoT and CPS and offered guidance in carrying out real time deployment of IoT systems to meet the industry standards at MEC Campus. Dr VAN delivered a Research Webinar on the topic "Enabling Technologies for Industrial Internet of Things" for the faculty members from EEE and ECE Department of Ramco Institute of Technology, Rajapalayam under the support services offered by Dept. of CSE, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore on 20th August 2021 Forenoon. This research webinar was organised by the Dept. of EEE and ECE, RIT, Rajapalyam for the benefit of their Faculty members. This session was followed by an another session on "Data Analytics in Distribution Grid ( Power System Attack Classification in Industrial Control System - Use Case Demo" in the Afternoon session on the same day. Mr M Nakkeeran, Research Scholar, Mobile and Wireless Networks Lab, Dept. of CSE, ASE-Coimbatore delivered the session. Both sessions were well received by the participants and served the purpose of transfer of technology.
Dr VAN delivered a Technical Webinar on "“Enabling Technologies for Industrial Internet of Things " on 14th August 2021 orgainsed by The Institution of Engineers (India) , Coimbatore Local Center and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department of Kalignar Karunanidihi Institute of Technology (KIT), Coimbatore. Dr VAN covered the fundamentals of Industrial IoT, various enabling technologies from Embedded System to Cloud and Data Analytics. Dr VAN also highlighted the key elements right from the requirement analysis to real time deployment and maintenance of Industrial IoT systems.
Dr VAN delivered a session on " Research Challenges in IoT and Security" on the Day 3 ( 23rd July 2021) in the three days CSIR Sponsored Faculty Development Program on " IoT Security Challenges and Opportunites in the 5G Era" conducted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, PSNA College of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul. Dr VAN covered research challenges in various enabling technologies of IoT and Cyber-Physical Systems as well as the threats and opportunities in securing IoT and Cyber-Physical Systems along with the support from GoI and Non Govt Organisations.
Dr VAN delivered an invited talk on " Enabling Technologies for Smart Systems" on the Day 1 ( 6th July 2021) in the two days "National Conference on Emerging Technologies for Smart Systems" conducted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Marian Engineering College, KazhaKuttom, Tiruvananthapuram. Dr VAN covered various enabling technologies of Smart Systems and demonstrated possible technologies with interesting use cases on Smart Energy and Smart Agri.
Dr VAN attended an interactive webinar titled "Building New Era AI Applications with Intel oneAPI Toolkit" conducted on 2nd July 2021 by FICE Education Private Limited as a part of Intel Intelligent Systems Lab for Internet of Things".
Dr VAN served as resource person and delivered a technical session on " Design and Deployment of Intelligent End and Edge devices for Smart Agri " as a part of the AICTE ATAL FDP on "AI and IoT- Based Technology for Precision Farming and Smart Agriculture" on 8th June 2021 orgainsed by the Dept of ECE, KGISL Institute of Technology, Coimbatore
Dr VAN served as a resource person in the Anna University sponsored Online – Six Day Faculty Development Training Programme (FDTP) on “EC8702 Adhoc & Wireless Sensor Networks” from 07th to 12th June 2021. Dr VAN delivered sessions on " Design of Senor Node and Edge Devices" and 'Simulation Tools for Wireless Sensor Networks" on 7th June 2021. This FDTP was organised by the Dept. of ECE, Anna University Regional Campus, Coimbatore.
Dr VAN served as a resource person in the five days AICTE/ISTE sponsored Induction/Refresher Program on "Internet of Things (IoT)" from 6th May to 11th May 2021 organised by Department of CSE, AG Patil Institute of Technology Solapur (MS), and delivered the sessions covering the fundamentals of IoT, IOT: Identification, Device management and service Discovery and Management, IOT protocols: MQTT, CoAP, Web Sockets , Integration of IOT End devices with Edge and cloud Infrastructure, Industrial IOT applications with MQTT, CoAP, Web Sockets Live Demonstrations using NodeMCU and ThingSpeak on 07th May 2021. More than 60 faculty members from different disciplines attended this program and enriched their knowledge in IoT. It is also planned to give continuous support for the faculty members who wish to venture into this Industry 4.0.

Dr VAN handled Day 1 session on Introduction to IoT and its Applications, and coordinated sessions on other five days sessions: Hardware and Software Design aspects of IoT, Integration of IoT with Cloud Computing, Cloud based Data Visualization using TI CC3200 Wi-Fi Launch pad, IoT Security and Penetrations Testing, Idea to Productization and Real Time Deployment.

Dr VAN served as an External Review Committee member for paper selection in the International Web Conference on Smart Engineering Technologies (IWCSET - 2020) held on 26.06.2020 and 27.06.2020. This conference was organised by the Dept. of ECE., Ramco Insitute of Technology, Rajapalayam.

Dr VAN conducted a FDP on "Hardware Essentials related to Raspberry Pi" condcuted by Dept. of Computer Science, Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri on 3rd and 4th October 2019 at AVVP Amritapuri Campus. Many faculty members from various departments like CS, CSE, ECE and ITS of AVVP, Amrita puri campuses attended this two day FDP and were trained in development of Embedded Systems and IoT Applications using Raspberry Pi , Arduino and NodeMCU interfaced with different kinds of Sensors, Actuators and Communication modules like BLE, ZigBee and GPRS devices..

Dr VAN highlighted all the initiatives made by MEITY, GoI under Make In India and Digital India Program Initiatives. Dr VAN and his team conducted two days Hands-on Workshop on "Product Development using IoT" on 30th and 31st August 2019 for the benefit of Students and faculty members of KIT.
Dr VAN presented a session on "Vision on Indian Roadmap for Electronics Industries 2020-2030" in the First Year B.E., (ECE) 2019-23 Batch Induction Program ( TEQIP III Sponsored) organised by Department of ECE, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore on 6th August 2019. Dr VAN presented a session on Physical Computing in the First Conference on Computational Thinking in Schools organised by ACM India CS Pathshala at Pune on 20th April 2019. A Live demonstartion on T{h}inker, a Physical Computing Kit designed by Dr VAN and Team got excellent appreciation among school teachers and industrial people from various parts of India. Dr C Shanmuga Velayutham is one of the author and the Professor who did a lot of analysis in making T{h}inker as a valuable tool for engaging engineering students effectively.
Dr VAN chaired a session on Prgramming Education in IEEE Educon 2019 @ Dubai, Dr VAN also presented a Paper detailing about Physical Computing in the same track on 9th April 2019. Conference was organised by American University in Dubai along with IEEE. T{h}inker, a Physical Computing Kit designed by Dr VAN and Team got excellent appreciation among participants from various parts of the World. Dr C Shanmuga Velayutham and Dr C K Shyamala extended their full support for making T{h}inker as a valuable tool for engaging engineering students effectively. Dr VAN with Dr C Shanmuga Velayutham visited American University in Dubai and intercated with Professors from various disciplines and domains.
