Utsab is a post-doctoral researcher in the Micro Nano-Scale Transport Lab in Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) in the university of Waterloo, Canada. He has obtained his Ph.D. and M.Tech from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India in the year 2021 and 2015 respectively, where he worked at the Ashis Research Group. In Ph.D., Utsab worked on the microfluidic manipulation of magnetic and non-magnetic interfaces on open surface and inside microchannels. The studies involved fundamentals of manipulation of magnetic and non-magnetic droplets using magnetic field and applications of cell encapsulated droplet manipulation using magnetic field. During his M.Tech, Utsab had worked on droplet and particle manipulation, sorting across fluid-fluid interface using passive microfluidic techniques. Utsab has obtained his B.E. from the Department of Power Engineering, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India.
