Camp Director: Cindy Dwyer
Cindy Dwyer (Camp Director) is a cornerstone of the New Jersey theater community with a distinguished career spanning over 30 years. As a dedicated music and drama educator, she has directed well over 100 full-scale musical productions, guiding thousands of students through the transformative power of the performing arts. Her visionary leadership and commitment to excellence have made her one of the region’s most respected champions of arts education.
Cindy’s expertise is reflected in an impressive list of accolades from the state's most prestigious organizations. She was named the 2021 Monmouth County Arts Educator of the Year and is a recipient of the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Outstanding Educator Award. Her work has further been recognized by Montclair State University’s Theater Night Awards with the Joann Fox Outstanding Educator Award. Beyond the classroom, Cindy is an active music director whose credits include several productions at Ocean County College, including this summer's production of My Fair Lady.
At the heart of Cindy’s work is a philosophy that extends far beyond "hitting the right note." She is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment where students build the confidence, character, and collaborative spirit necessary to succeed both on and off the stage. Cindy is thrilled to lead the Drum Point Players Musical Theater Camp, ensuring that every performer leaves the summer with a sense of belonging and skills that serve them long after the final curtain call.
Samantha Amaral (Choreographer) is an award-winning dancer, instructor, and choreographer with over 90 productions to her credit. A two-time Count Basie “Outstanding Choreography” winner for The Drowsy Chaperone and All Shook Up, Samantha has also earned prestigious nominations from the NJ Theater Association (Perry Awards) and the Rising Star Awards. As the owner of Saucy Studios in Toms River, she brings a wealth of expertise in musical theater, commercial dance, and live event production to the tri-state area.
Her professional career spans international stages and major media campaigns. Samantha traveled across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico with the national tour of Sesame Street Live and has appeared in Off-Broadway productions and national television networks. Her commercial work is equally diverse, ranging from choreographing the viral Applebee’s “Saucerority” TikTok campaign to serving as a dance production assistant for a Britney Spears commercial and performing in projects alongside artists like Ne-Yo.
A lifelong performer, Samantha began dancing at age two and started choreographing musicals at just 17. She holds degrees in Psychology, Drama, and Business Management from Hofstra University and has served as an assistant to faculty at the world-renowned Broadway Dance Center. Samantha is passionate about sharing her high-energy style and professional industry knowledge with the next generation of performers, helping every camper find their home on stage through movement and confidence.
