Technical expertise

My research aims at understanding past and present climate change in the Himalayas. I specialize in using remote sensing and absolute dating techniques to reconstruct long-term patterns of glacial fluctuation and climatic variability in the mountain region. My research interests include glaciers and glacier change, process geomorphology, paleoenvironmental reconstruction, Quaternary geology, and associated mountain hazards. I employ advanced techniques such as geophysical field mapping (including GPR, DGPS, Terrestrial Lidar, and glaciological mass budget), geoinformatics, Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) and Cosmogenic Radio Nuclides (CRN). These tools enable me to monitor glacier dynamics on a centennial to millennial-scale and model to understand past variability and future evolution patterns. I possess extensive field-based experience in high-altitude Himalayan glacier environments.
