Welcome to the website for MTNA Certified Master Teacher, Dr. Stephanie Owen of Lebanon, IL. Known for training prize winning students, teaching for various colleges and universities, concert performances in several countries and holding numerous academic honors and recognitions-- Dr. Stephanie Owen is now offering her extensive talents as an instructor to students in the Metro East area of St. Louis.
Among a few of her many noteworthy accomplishments, Dr.Owen received the Ph.D in music from Washington University St.Louis.She also studied at the Ecole Normale de Musique Paris France and the Moscow State Conservatory as well as at Aspen Colorado.She won first prize in the international piano recording competition the Guild and was semi finalist in the Bartok Kabalevsy competition in Radford Virginia and Semifinalist in YKAA at Oberlin College Ohio.
She performed the Bach Concerto in D minor with the London Ontario Symphony ,Ravel Concerto in G with the St. Louis Symphony on a Ford Grant, the Beethoven Concerto in C with the Washington University Orchestra and the Carnaval of the Animals by Saint Saens with the London Ontario Symphony as well as the Concerto in G minor by Mendelssohn with the Interlochen Symphony, the Liszt Concerto in E flat with the London Ontario Symphony and the Mozart K466 with the Belleville Philharmonic in addition to solo performances at Ursuline College the Pines in Chatham Ontario Canada ,University of Western Ontario in London Ontario Canada Southern Illinois University in Carbondale Illinois McKendree College in Lebanon Illinois, Washington University in St. Louis Missouri ,lecture recital for MMTA in Kansas City Missouri, duo recital at Maryville College St Louis Missouri, chamber recital at the Belleville Philharmonic Hall in Belleville Illinois,chamber recital at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville Illinois, and master class at Springfield Illinois as well as duo recital for ISMTA State Convention in Chicago Illinois and concerts in France, Japan and Carnegie Hall debut in 1999.
