About Me : Dr.S.Santhosh Baboo currently serves as the Principal of Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College (DGVC), Chennai, Tamil Nadu an institution reaccredited with an A++ grade by NAAC. He is also a Syndicate Member of the University of Madras and a NAAC Assessor, and previously held the position of Registrar at Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli.

With nearly three decades of teaching experience in Computer Science, 20 years of active research, and 15 years in academic administration, he made a lasting impact on higher education. Having guided 42 Ph.D. scholars, published more than 240 research articles and has successfully completed a UGC Major Research Project (2012–2015).

Throughout his career, he held several key positions including Dean, Member of the Academic Council, Senate and Syndicate, Chairman of the Board of Studies, NCC Officer at the rank of Captain, and member of numerous selection and scrutiny committees. As a NAAC Assessor, he has visited several institutions across India, contributing to quality assurance and academic development.

During his tenure as Registrar, he played a vital role in upgrading M.S. University’s NAAC accreditation from B to A grade and was instrumental in improving its NIRF ranking to 93 in 2019. His efforts in campus development and sustainable practices led the university to achieve the 5th rank nationally under the Swachh Bharat Mission by the MHRD, Government of India.

Under his leadership, DGVC has grown exponentially, now hosting over 12,000 students, 500 faculty members, and 250 supporting staff. The college has earned the distinction of being ranked the No. 1 educational institution in Tamil Nadu (Times Now Ranking 2025 in Tamil Nadu’s best Arts and Science Colleges), excelling in academics, co-curricular achievements, and institutional outreach.

Contributions have been recognized with several honours, including the “Best Principal Award” by Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia; the Bharathi Chudar Award by Bharathiyar Sangam; and the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Tamil Nadu Global Research Organization. He has also received a commendation from the NCC Directorate, New Delhi, and has represented India in academic visits to Malaysia, Singapore, UAE, China, and Nepal.
