was first established in 1947 with 8 classes housed in a rented building owned by Felisa Afable. The school laws an annes of Pasig Elementary School and offered only primary classes (I-IV) under the leadership of Mrs. Matilde Tuazon as its first Principal I.
In 1948, a grade five class was opened. In 1950, the graduates marched on top of a makeshift stage in the Afable Compound. The school population had increased with the opening of grade V and VI classes since pupils of Buting and San Joaquin Primary Schools were admitted to the school. Other feeder barrios being served were Bagong Katipunan, Sta. Rosa, a portion of Malinao, Sumilang and Kalawaan.
The Afable Compound became too small to accommodate the increase in the number of classes. Hence the school occupied the Javillonar Annex, rooms in nearby houses, Pozon Annex which later on became Dr. Sixto Antonio Elementary School Unit 1 was also to accommodate classes.
On August 16, 1954, a site known to Pasig residents as "Patay na Ilog" was reserved for school site purposes by Presidential Proclamation No. 57 s. 1954 under the administration of President Ramon Magsaysay. The proclamation pronounced that the lot covering a total area of 2,303 sq. meters was small in preparation for the school's increasing enrolment. Hence the PTA Board represented the Pasig Municipal Council for the purchase of private lands adjacent to the school site. The purchased lot covering 2,716 sq. meters increased the total land area of the school site 5,019 sq. meter.
| School Expansion
Improvement on the school site started by filling in the area. Building Construction commenced in 1961 with the construction of the 12-room, 3-strorey Caruncho Building. This was followed by the 4-room Rodriguez Building occupied in August 1963. The Home Economics Building was built in the same year and occupied November 1963. All these Improvements were done under the dynamic leadership of Mrs. Matilde Tuazon who became the first principal of this school from 1947-1969 or a total of 22 years.
The name of the school was changed from Bambang Elementary School to Dr. Sixto Antonio Elementary School on February 20, 1961 through the Pasig Municipal Council Resolution No. 187. The name change was made to honor the late Rizal Governor Dr. Sixto Antonio, who was a resident of Bambang.
Changes occurred as years went by, natural calamities like earthquakes caused the Old Rodriguez Building to be demolished. This was replaced by constructing another two-storey building with 12 classrooms, the Bagong Lipunan Building. In the year 1982-1985, the canteen was in knee-deep floodwaters during rainy days. Another earthquake hit the country in the year 1988-1989, damaging another building, the Caruncho Building. This was replaced by the three-storey Vicente P. Eusebio Building with twelve classrooms, which was built in the year 1994. The construction of the Multi-Purpose Hall was realized in the year 1996 since the school has been always the venue of meetings, seminars, programs of teachers and contests of pupils in the different subject areas of Pasig II district and even the other districts of Pasig. Construction of a five-storey, 10 room Vicente P. Eusebio II was completed school year 1999-2000, housing academic and non-academic rooms. The 5-storey; 19-room Vicente P. Eusebio Building III, constructed in 2007, now accommodates the administrative office, the clinic, the guidance office, the library and computer rooms and grade IV and V classrooms. The 4-storey Romulo Building which was contructed in 2011, with the initiative of Cong. Roman T. Romulo. It is where the canteen, feeding room, conference room and grade IV rooms are situated.
The school's physical outlook changed upon the construction of the different school buildings and upgrading of the school ground through the untiring efforts of the different school Principals stationed at DSAES.
