Shymasree Basu has been a part of the English faculty since 2015.Previously she had served in the capacity of Assistant Professor in English at Barasat College. She has completed her graduation (1999) and post graduation(2002) in English from Calcutta University. She has obtained her M.Phil(2004) and Ph.D(2010) degree from Jadavpur University.

Dr.Basu has published articles in various national journals some of which are peer-reviewed. She has also presented papers at various seminars and conferences, both national and international.

Her areas of academic interest include narratology, gender studies and cultural studies.

She is currently engaged in a Minor Research Project funded by the UGC.She is also the Associate Editor of a peer-reviewed journal Critical and Creative Wings.
