Dr. Shantanu Bhunia is currently an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Agro and Rural Technology, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. He awarded his Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from Jadavpur University, and holds an M.Sc. in Botany. Following his Ph.D., he served as a Postdoctoral Research Associateat the Centre for Rural Development and Innovative Sustainable Technology, IIT Kharagpur. To date, he has authored seven research articles, two book chapters, and one conference paper, and co-inventor of a patent (Patent No. IN 370569) granted in India. He awarded the ICSSR fellowship during his doctoral studies and has received recognition for Best Poster Presentation at Vidyasagar University (2017) and IIT Guwahati (2020). His international accolades include the Going Global Grant from the British Council and the Proposal Development Fund from the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN), Japan. He is a member of the Australasian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES) and an external expert for the CAPaBLE proposal screening panel of the APN. Dr. Bhunia has also worked as a Project Scientist at SAFE, an ISO14001:2015 certified Civil Society Organization based in Kolkata, and has actively participated in several community-based projects in India and Nepal. Additionally, he serves as a Reviewer for 15 internationally reputed journals.
