Dr. Shantanu Bhunia is currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the School of Agro and Rural Technology, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. He earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from Jadavpur University and holds an M.Sc. degree in Botany. Following his Ph.D., Dr. Bhunia worked as a Research Associate at the Rural Development Centre, IIT Kharagpur. Dr. Bhunia's areas of expertise include resource utilization, environmental technologies, and producer organizations. During his doctoral tenure, he was awarded the prestigious ICSSR fellowship by the Government of India. His international accolades include the Going Global Grant from the British Council and the Proposal Development Fund from Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN), Japan. He currently serves as Project Director for the ICSSR 2nd LSS project, is a member of the Australian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES), and acts as an external expert for the APN. Dr. Bhunia has also worked as a Project Scientist at SAFE, an ISO 14001:2015 certified civil society organization based in Kolkata, and has actively contributed to several community-based projects in India and Nepal. He is a Reviewer for over 15 internationally reputed journals.
