Hi! I'm Dr. Russo, pleased to meet you! It is my great joy and privilege to be a science teacher. I believe that young people will change the world and I am grateful for the opportunity to teach and learn from them.
WHY I TEACH As a science teacher, it is my duty to cultivate a sense of curiosity in my students. I believe that if we approach each other with curiosity, rather than assumptions, we can learn from each other instead of fighting each other. If we approach problems with curiosity instead of assumptions, we can find real solutions. The pressing problems of today will require creative, curious minds to solve and I know that our young thinkers are up to the task! Read my teaching philosophy here.
What I teach
The classes I teach includeChemistry, RTB (Research Technoloy, and Bioengineering), and General Psychology at the secondary level (high school) as well asCognitive Neuroscience, Research Methods, Statistical Analysis of Research Data, and Introductory Psychology at the college level.
Teaching to different populations
Teaching at both the secondary and college level has been an interesting and rewarding experience. Attitudes, techniques, and goals vary greatly between college and secondary educators. I take the best of both worlds and apply them to my teaching style. I keep the rigor, high expectations, and cutting-edge content of collegiate-level education and mix it with the engagement, scaffolds, and FUN of a secondary class.
