Geographic Administrative Units (GAU)

DRRM Rosario is proud to introduce the concept of Geographic Administrative Units, a strategic framework designed to enhance governance, service delivery, and disaster resilience through well-defined spatial boundaries. This concept organizes the municipality into manageable units that support targeted planning, coordination, and resource allocation. By leveraging this approach, Rosario, Batangas can better integrate various local initiatives into broader municipal and regional goals, fostering sustainable development and community preparedness.

Three Key Frameworks

The Geographic Administrative Units in Rosario encompass three key frameworks: Rural Health Unit (RHU) Catchment Areas, Municipal Districts, and Barangay Clusters

Vital Components of Resilience-Building

This framework allows for a more cohesive approach to planning and governance, ensuring that each unit receives attention and resources tailored to its unique needs and characteristics. By introducing and promoting Geographic Administrative Units, DRRM Rosario aims to align local actions with overarching DRRM objectives while empowering communities to actively participate in shaping their own development. These units not only provide a foundation for efficient service delivery but also serve as vital components of resilience-building, enabling Rosario, Batangas to respond to challenges more effectively and sustainably.


RHU CAtchments

The RHU Catchment Areas, designated by the Department of Health (DOH), define the geographic zones served by each Rural Health Unit in Rosario, Batangas. 


Municipal Districts

The Municipal Districts, developed through the Watershed Approach to Land Use Planning, organize barangays based on shared natural resource systems such as watersheds. 

Barangay Clusters

The Barangay Clusters, a community organizing strategy introduced in 1995, divide the 48 barangays of Rosario, Batangas into eight clusters, each composed of six barangays.
