Dr. Rajesh Rekapalli

I received Ph.D. in Science (Geophysics) from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research, National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad, India, in 2015 and currently working as a Senior Technical Officer at CSIR-NGRI, Hyderabad, India. I have experience in  Geophysical Signal Processing (seismic ambient noise, reflection,  resistivity and climate data), Ambient Noise Seismology, Earthquake Foreshock and Aftershock analysis, algorithm development and coding.  I have developed novel singular spectrum-based algorithms for 2D and 3D  seismic data filtering, de-noising and gap filling in my Ph.D. Currently working on the topic of Ambient Noise Seismology to study the temporal changes in spectral energy and travel times to address the climate and environmental impact on the physical properties of subsurface material.

My research interest includes

• Ambient seismic noise studies for monitoring the changes in subsurface velocity associated with hydrological changes, earthquakes, landslides other environmental processes

• Development and application of advanced non-linear techniques for geophysical data analysis and modeling to improve the accuracy of interpretation

• Earthquake Precursory and Prediction studies 

• Machine Learning and  Artificial Intelligence
