Dr. P. Vijayakumar – Academic Administrator, Professor, Ph.D., MIEEE., MSSI., MISTE., with over 30 years of experience in Industry, Education and Research & Development in multidisciplinary areas such Low Power VLSI, Instrumentation, Power Quality and Optimization.

Instrumental in setting up of the Centre of Excellences at Karpagam College of Engineering (2011): NI - LabVIEW Academy and B & R Centre for Automation and Centre of Excellences at Kathir College of Engineering (2014): NI - LabVIEW Academy, TI Analog Teaching Lab and TI Embedded Systems Lab. Played active role in a number of Government sponsored Projects at PSG College of Technology (1999-2008) and delivered products such as Medical Ventilator and Potentiostat.

Having an industrial experience of 6 Years (1992-1999) in M/S. Sundaram Industries, Chennai, M/S. SPIC Heavy Chemicals Ltd., Chennai and M/S. Essar Refineries, Gujarat. Served (1999-2008) as Faculty in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Research Coordinator, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, (2008-2012) as Faculty, Head of the Department and Dean Engg. – I Year in Karpagam College of Engineering Coimbatore (2013 – 2014) as Faculty, Vice Principal and Principal in Kathir College of Engineering, Coimbatore and (2015 –2023) as Faculty and Controller of Examinations and (2016 Onwards) as Principal in Karpagam College of Engineering Coimbatore, Currently serving as Professor and head of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department and Dean (Electrical and Computer Engineering) in PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research, Coimbatore.
