Southern Stars. An annual entertainment spectacular typically involving 2000+ public school students and many staff. These performances started in 2000 and were only interrupted in 2020 by Covid99.
From 2006 I have worked with MSP Photography to photograph the event. My role has been to photograph the show alongside the MSP professionals and then to curate the results. This work along with media photos, WIN TV footage, personal photos and documents, and more recently social media forms much of the record of the history of the show.
My photos are a part of this work. If you know where to look mine are the ones taken with Nikon equipment. (But not the D7500)
Southern Schools Performing Ensemble
A touring performance group comprised of a stage band, dance group and vocal section. The group of approx 40 public high school students is auditioned each year and tours schools usually once a term performing mostly to school audiences. The performance venue varies from the school hall, the playground, a community hall or wherever is available. The audience varies from an entire school community to half a dozen children at a small rural school.
