Howdy. We are Droplets.

Droplets are a psychedelic synthpop trio from Providence, RI USA, comprised of Din Sandez on synthesizer, ️⭐Cayce!️⭐ on vocals and Mark Stone on bass. The three met in late 2019 at a home-trepanation conference, and quickly bonded over their mutual interest in particle acceleration, sausage, street hockey and the oeuvre of Bob Denver. None had ever played music before, but the trio decided to form a band as a way to celebrate their shared passions.

Anon, ️️⭐Cayce!️⭐ introduced the others to her friend Rear Admiral Robot- a hard drinking early 80’s vintage Heathkit and Svengali, who quickly tried to assert himself over the fledgling band; assigning their instruments and attempting to shape their musical direction- a doomed hybrid of Ted Nugent and Van der Graaf Generator. With updates and technical support to Robot’s CPU ending decades ago, he is literally stuck in the 70s and 80s in the worst possible ways.

Freeing themselves from Robot’s domineering presence, the band quickly wrote and recorded their self-titled debut album- ten songs mainly built around Din’s synth arrangements; best described as spacey yet liberally sprinkled with noise. And despite no longer taking musical direction from Robot, he does continue to name the songs- usually a puerile double entendre referencing his beloved antiquated technology.
