As a "dance artist" I want to explore the binaries of masculinity and femininity as well as bring a light, quirkiness and amusement to my movement. I want to be able to explore the extremities of each binary. As a person of color and part of the LGBTQ+ community, being gay and nonbinary are three very important identities for me and my work. In my work I want to bring more light to these binaries, not only movement but within the dance community as well.
My goal as a choreographer is to pursue risk and vulnerability to be able to stretch limits and challenge expectations of amusement and dance. Another goal is to be able to develop a strong relationship between dance and the camera to be able to amplify movement with set design. I am passionate on how to further elevate dance as not only a form of identity and activism but as a form of visual art, as well as be able to bring a narrative and storyline to these films.
