Dr. Ofer Israeli is a lecturer of foreign policy decision-making and strategy at the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy, Reichman University (IDC), Herzliya, and a senior lecturer of International Relations and the Middle East at the Ashkelon Academic College. He is the author of four books on international relations, the Middle East, and foreign policy decision-making and has security experience. In addition to his latest book, Complex Effects in Middle East Conflicts (forthcoming: Jerusalem: The Hebrew University Magness Press, Jerusalem, 2024) [Hebrew], his books include Complex Effects of International Relations: Intended and Unintended Consequences of Intentional Human Actions in Middle East Conflicts (State University of New York Press, 2020); International Relations Theory of War (Praeger, 2019); and Theory of War: System Stability and Territorial Outcomes (Resling, 2017) [Hebrew] [2017 Winner of Chaikin Prize in Geo-strategy – Haifa Research Center for Maritime Strategy].

Dr. Israeli has taught at the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Academy for Tactic and Strategic Commanders, the Israel Air Force (IAF) College for Military Flights, The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Naval Academy, and he is also a Lecturer in other Academic Institutions. He also has been a US National Security Fellow at the Institute on Global Conflict & Cooperation (IGCC), University of California, San Diego, Sponsored by Fulbright and the US Department of State.

During 2009-2011 he was a post-Doctoral at The Center for Peace & Security Studies (CPASS) of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service (SFS), Washington, DC. Currently, he is a research fellow at The National Security Studies Center (NSSC) of the University of Haifa, Israel, and a Senior Research Fellow at the International Institute for Migration and Security Research, Sofia, Bulgaria.

Dr. Israeli received his master’s degree at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his PhD at the University of Haifa, Israel. In addition, he has been a recipient of fellowships from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, The Leonard Davis Institute for International Relations, University of Haifa, Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA), and Ashkelon Academic College.

Dr. Israeli is an avid ice climber, long-distance runner, and environmental activist. Among his other credits is an NGO coordinator for a non-profit organization for the people of Cabanaconde, Peru.
