Choreography

Dr. Neal has performed in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, New York, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Finland. These first three dance photographs came from pieces that held personal meaning for him. Considered his signature work, The Ultimate Sport was an abstract dance that develped from sport movements used as the basis for the creation of the dance. He choreographed the first section of the dance, Super Jock, while he was a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin. While teaching at Longwood University he added two more sections which were trios. Counterpoint and Harmony, which originally was to be title Ebony and Ivory because he and Rodney Williams were white and black but was changed because the afore mentioned title was already used by Paul McCartney. The dance dealt with the intricate and balanced relationship that Rodney and Nelson had while teaching together at Longwood University. The dance titled EDD explored the feelings and emotions from his experiences during his doctoral degree program at the University of Virginia.
