Specialist in digital systems, condition monitoring, and IoT/Industrial IoT, currently leading the Digital Hospitals project at the University of Cambridge as Project Lead and Digital Solution Architect. Developed a modular, service-oriented, and autonomous digital twin infrastructure in collaboration with Cambridge University Hospitals and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, aimed at improving operational efficiency in the histopathology department. Key contributions include architecting low-cost digital solutions, implementing sensor-based monitoring systems, mentoring junior researchers, and deploying technologies directly within the hospital environment. The project focuses on democratising digitalisation through adaptive digital twins.
Some of the highlights are:
Foundational Programme Lead, “Digital Manufacturing on a Shoestring (India)”, Initiated SME engagement pipelines for digital adoption. Successfully engaged 60+ companies (Jan ’25) and launched pilot deployments in 4 SMEs across two Indian regions.
Project Lead, “Digital Hospitals” Led the development of an integrated hospital digital twin, funded by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. Advised NHS bodies, consultants, and medical supply chains.
Founder & Organising Chair, “LoDiSA ’23, ’24, ’25” Established a global forum on low-cost digital solutions for industrial automation. Attracts researchers from 20+ universities across 8 countries.

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridge, U.K.
Leading a project and investigating approaches for a service-oriented, modular digital twin platform for hospitals and trialing various aspects of the twin (discrete event simulation of processes, low-cost digital solutions, and BIM systems). Also researching on how low-cost digital monitoring solutions in the manufacturing sector can be easily repurposed for no-clinical healthcare processesin healthcare ecosystems.
Aug 2023 - Present
Led research and development of low-cost digitalisation, automation, and analytics solutions for SMEs in the UK and Australia under the EPSRC-funded Digital Manufacturing on a Shoestring project. Developed sensor-based systems (vibration, temperature, current, light) and pioneered testing methodologies for low-cost technologies. Extended the framework to non-patient-centric healthcare to support rapid digitalisation. Collaborated with industry on knowledge discovery and ML-based anomaly detection, and built IoT-enabled monitoring prototypes for hospital equipment. Co-organised hackathons, apprentice training, and international academic workshops focused on affordable, modular digital solutions for SMEs.

Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Kharagpur, India
Began as a Senior Research Fellow in the Agriculture and Food Engineering Department at IIT Kharagpur, developing sensor networks for monitoring climate, soil, and water conditions. Contributed to projects on precision robotic systems, underwater sensor networks, blockchain-secured IoT healthcare systems, and IoT-based mine digitalisation. Responsibilities included project planning, budgeting, equipment procurement, team leadership, and coordination with funding bodies. Co-developed and delivered over 12 industry- and academia-facing workshops on IoT, sensor networks, UAVs, and underwater systems.
As a PhD scholar, focused on constrained IoT networks and edge computing, with research emphasizing adaptive task offloading in resource-limited environments. Developed intelligent, scalable, and interoperable networked systems for agriculture, healthcare, and industrial monitoring, addressing challenges in mobility, energy efficiency, and sustainability using networking and machine learning-based approaches. Also engaged in teaching and mentoring during the doctoral tenure.

Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engg. (ECE), University
of Engineering & Management, Jaipur, India
Served in the newly established Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, where I developed and taught over six undergraduate courses spanning electronics, microelectronics, electrical engineering, signal processing, data communications, and solid-state devices—covering both theory and lab components.
As acting Head of Department for two years, I streamlined academic and administrative operations and laid the groundwork for long-term departmental growth.
Established seven new laboratories to enhance research and teaching infrastructure, and organized student-focused workshops, internships, industrial visits, and technical exhibitions to promote hands-on learning and industry exposure.
