Research Skills
Computational expertise
Expert in atomistic modeling and simulation techniques such as first-principles density functional theory, molecular dynamics, electromagnetic simulation.
Expert to calculate materials properties within LDA/GGA/PBE/HSE and beyond standard DFT methods such as many body perturbation theory (GW) and BSE approaches.
Capable to use Vienna Ab-initio Simulation Package (VASP) computer program. VASP is one of the most popular programs and is used worldwide within computational materials community.
Good knowledge of other software and tools such as VESTA, MS-Studio, MatLab, Origion. Good knowledge of code compilation.
Experimental expertise
Expert in synthesis and characterization of materials especially non-asbestos organic (NAO) friction composites for automotive
Well trained for handling many sophisticated instruments like Laser Flash Thermal Conductivity analyzer, Scanning Electron Microscope with EDS facility and Optical and surface profilometers
expert to handel various tribological machines like Brake Inertia Dynamometer, Pin on Disc m/c, Micro-hardness tester, compression Molding Machine etc.
Experience to set up a new lab to house the dynamometer and facilities related to development & performance evaluation of friction composites in ITMMEC in IIT Delhi during PhD program.
Received special training from M/s Pyramid Precision Engg. Pvt. Ltd., Channai to handle and run the Brake Inertia Dynamometer (a unique facility available only in IITD baring very big industries in India).
