Drone Team

The Drone Team competes against teams from across the state of Georgia and NE Florida. Competitors complete in various drone competition areas such as obstacle courses, landing challenges, speed courses, and NFO challenges (flight direction assisted by a teammate), and academics related to aeronautics and aerodynamics. All drone equipment is provided by the unit. The team is highly competitive, finishing very high in all areas of competition. There are no specific skills or requirements to be on the team other than a willingness to practice and work hard to improve. Teams learn about drones, flight principles, programming, documentation, and communication skills while expanding their understanding and building interest in drone-related workforce and career opportunities.
