Dr. Mohammad Mainul Islam Professor University of Dhaka, Bangladesh
Dr. Mohammad Mainul Islam is a professor and former Chairman of Population Sciences at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was also the former Project Director of the Strengthening the Capacity of Teaching and Research Facilities at the Department of Population Sciences, University of Dhaka (Second Phase, funded by the United Nations Population Fund-UNFPA and the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh). He was elected Member of the Syndicate –the highest decision-making body of the University of Dhaka for two consecutive terms between 2010 and 2014.
Dr. Islam received his Ph.D. in Demography from the Institute of Population Research at Peking University, China, specializing in Population Health in 2009. Dr. Islam got his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Sociology from the University of Dhaka. He completed a Global Health Research Capacity Strengthening Program (GHR-CAPS) Postdoctoral Fellowship at McGill University, Canada, between 2013 and 2014.
