Vaccines

Vaccines save lives. Vaccines mean protection. Protection for children against all preventable diseases. And if you have been vaccinated or have vaccinated your children, you are part of the chain that keeps all humanity safe.

Which vaccines do children need to be given before they turn 16? When should these vaccines be administered and which diseases are they protecting children from?

We present to you a series of infographics explaining the Universal Immunization Program (UIP) to keep you informed about the vaccination schedule of your children and help you understand the diseases they are preventing children from.

Nebulizers

Nebulizers are useful in treating certain respiratory conditions. Doctors often use them for babies. They allow infants to take in medication while breathing as they normally would. When a baby breathes in the mist from a nebulizer, the medicine can go deep into their lungs where it can work to make breathing easier.

Phototherapy for jaundice

Phototherapy is treatment with a special type of light (not sunlight). It's sometimes used to treat newborn jaundice by making it easier for your baby's liver to break down and remove the bilirubin from your baby's blood. Phototherapy aims to expose your baby's skin to as much light as possible.

Hospital admission for serious baby

It can be stressful whenever kids are in the hospital — and even more so when they're in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Understanding the people and equipment in the PICU can help you feel better prepared to help your child.

Sometimes, kids who were stable enough to be cared for on the hospital's medical-surgical floors move to the PICU if they become more acutely ill. After major surgery, many children get care in the PICU for several days.
