Dr. Zhonghua Liu is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics at Columbia University. His research develops statistical foundations for causal inference in complex biological systems, integrating statistical theory, genomics, and AI to enable intervention-level understanding.

His research program originated at the University of Hong Kong (2018–2022) and has since expanded at Columbia University, with a focus on causal genomics, large-scale inference, and AI-driven scientific discovery.

He is the Principal Investigator of an NIH R01 award and serves as Associate Editor for several leading journals in statistics and biostatistics. He received his Sc.D. in Biostatistics from Harvard University in 2015, under the supervision of Dr. Xihong Lin.
