DiRL3 will be located at the Tagungsraum 4, in the Mensa building at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

How to get to the campus

From Bochum’s main railway station, you can take the underground U35 (CampusLinie) to get to Ruhr University Bochum, which has its own stop. The U35 (going in the direction of Bochum Hustadt) runs every 5 minutes on weekdays and takes less than 10 minutes from the main station to the university.

Tickets for the public transportation in Bochum:

Tickets are available online at the BOGESTRA website. You can also buy them at the red machines located at the train stations.

Prices (Preisstufe A):

“EinzelTicket”: for a single trip (one way) 3,80€
“4er-Ticket”: 4 single trips 15,20€
“24-StundenTicket”: valid for 24 hours 7,60€

We recommend buying the “24-StundenTicket - Preisstufe A” (the one the link above directs you to) - With that, you can travel for 24 hours within Bochum. In case you want to also travel to other cities, you can either get a “Preisstufe B” (for one other city from Bochum) or “Preisstufe C” All the cities in the VRR-area. Here is a map to the VRR-Area.

You can validate your tickets in the red machines inside the trains. The 24-hour ticket needs to be validated only once.

How to get to the venue from Ruhr-Universität metro station

After you leave the trains at the Ruhr Universität metro station, you'll take the stairs/escalator/elevator to an upper floor. From there, take a right, you will be facing the university. Walk across the bridge until you reach the University Library. You then have to take a right, then a left and go down the stairs. You should be seeing the Audimax building (a circular building, with an open square in front of it). Keep moving straight past the Audimax (keep walking on the same floor). The next building to your left is the Mensa building. Enter from one of the rotating doors. You should be now at the A_KAFFEE. Walk past the cafe and take a right turn and go across the door. You will find the room to your left. The room is named ``Krakau''.
