Dr. Joycelyn Williams Thomas is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Texas. She is also an ordained minister in the Church of God (Anderson, IN). She specializes in working with individuals and families in a variety of areas, including general well-being, abuse and trauma, and severe mental illness. She also specializes in forensic psychological services. She has maintained her own mental health private practice since 2003, in addition to working with various agencies and organizations.
Dr. Joycelyn has given presentations on the local, state and national level on a variety of mental health and faith related topics. Additionally, she has been an adjunct psychology professor for several years. Her private practice is located in Fort Worth, TX (Spiritual and Behavioral Health Consultants, LLC). She currently sees clients both in-person and virtually who are located in Texas and has license to provide Telehealth (virtual) counseling to individuals in 33 other states. She was ordained into ministry in 2002, and was an associate minister at United Covenant of Hope Church of God from 1997 to 2022.
Dr. Joycelyn earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston, a Post-doctoral Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Alliant International University, a Master of Arts in Counseling from Sam Houston State University and a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family Relationships from the University of Texas at Austin.
She is married to Bishop Kelvin Thomas and supports his leadership of Fresh Start Ministries in Longview, TX.
