Dr. Kumar has organized a national conference on "Emerging trends in Medical Biotechnology and Nanotechnology." He has extensive research experience in the field of chalcogenide phase change materials and has supervised several M.Sc. Physics and M.Phil. Physics students for their project work. He has also served as a reviewer for various reputable journals, including Physica Scripta, Physica B Condensed Matter, Journal of Material Science: Materials in Electronics, and African Journal of Microbiology Research.

Some of his notable publications include studies on radioactivity measurements in Himachal Pradesh, health risk assessment based on radioactivity measurement in soil samples from Mandi District, synthesis and characterization of silver-doped zinc oxide nanoparticles, structural and optical properties of nickel-doped ZnO nanoparticles and thin films, and antibacterial study of silver-doped zinc oxide nanoparticles.
