Dr. Jahmal Mosley

Director of Academics

Dr. Jahmal Mosley has a rich educational background, with over 20 years of experience in educational leadership at all levels. His career spans roles such as a special education teacher, building and central office administrator, and director of academics. He is certified as a Special Education Administrator and has extensive experience designing and assessing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs and abilities of students with various challenges, including speech, language, intellectual, hearing, emotional, or physical impairments.

Dr. Jahmal holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Massachusetts, a prestigious institution known for its top-ranked academic programs and innovative research. His doctoral dissertation, "Perceptions of Principal Attributes in an Era of Accountability," was published in the Journal of School Leadership. Dr. Jahmal received his Bachelor of Arts in 1997 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, with a concentration in African-American History and Psychology. In 1998, Dr. Jahmal earned his Master's in Education at Wheelock College in Boston, majoring in Special Needs/Elementary and Middle School Education. Recognizing his potential for a broader impact at the administrative level, he pursued further education and, in 2010, completed his Doctorate in Education from UMass-Amherst with a focus on Education Administration, Policy, and Research.

His research took him to China, where he examined the educational reforms and significant government investments that have driven student achievement. Director of Academics, Madison Park Technical Vocational High School (Feb 2023-present)


As director of Academics, Dr. Jahmal oversees curriculum development, school priorities, personnel management, and district initiatives, including vocational instructional programs. He has implemented monitoring and evaluation procedures for student achievement goals and organized parent-school events to boost parent engagement. Additionally, he prepares progress monitoring and school turnaround reports for the district.


Superintendent for Administration (July 2021-Jan. 2023)


As Superintendent, Dr. Jahmal was crucial in implementing COVID-19 in-person and distance learning plans and strategies. He authored presentations on COVID-19 testing protocols and performed curriculum reviews to maintain high educational standards. He enhanced the district's communication platforms, which improved parent engagement and community partnerships. He also designed a budget addressing human capital and teaching needs, resolved union grievances, and restored collaboration between unions and administration.


Superintendent of Schools and Administration, Nashua Public Schools (July 2017-July 2021)


During his tenure as Superintendent of Nashua Public Schools, Dr. Jahmal prepared an annual budget of $177 million and implemented a comprehensive five-year strategic plan. This plan included educational objectives, school policies, and strategic initiatives for the district. He supervised over 2,500 employees and maintained effective public relations to inform the community about district activities.


Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Administration, Sharon Public Schools (July 2014-July 2017)


In this role, Dr. Jahmal Mosley oversaw curricular reviews and evaluated summer curriculum proposals and professional development workshops. He also served as the district's chief harassment officer, handling all personnel cases of harassment and bullying. Dr. Jahmal trained employees on state mandates and policies to ensure a safe working environment. He also played a crucial role in teachers' contract negotiations, supervised state grants, and managed English Language Learner programs. He evaluated student assessment data to ensure academic standards were met.


Principal, Somerset Berkley Regional High School (July 2011-July 2014)


As Principal, Dr. Jahmal facilitated numerous teacher and staff workshops, created programs to address achievement gaps, and chaired the technology task force. He developed a strategic action plan to engage students with modern learning tools. Under his leadership, Somerset Berkley Regional High School moved from a Level 2 to a Level 1 school, aligned its curriculum with Common Core Standards, and facilitated professional development workshops on the new teacher evaluation system.
