DriveRef App operates the DriveRef mobile application.
This Privacy Policy explains how DriveRef handles information when you use the app.
DriveRef does not require an account and does not collect personal information.
DriveRef does not use:
advertising services
analytics services
crash-reporting services
GPS location tracking
cloud storage
user accounts
behavioral tracking
DriveRef may create and store the following information locally on your device:
phone calibration settings
app preferences and driving-feedback thresholds
trip history
recorded motion events
motion-sensor samples
exported trip-data files
This information is used only to provide the app’s features. It is not automatically transmitted to DriveRef App or stored on DriveRef servers.
DriveRef uses motion sensors available on your device to estimate acceleration, braking, turning, and vertical movement.
These sensor readings are processed on your device. DriveRef does not use GPS to track your route or location.
Sensor readings may vary based on the phone, mount position, calibration, vehicle, road conditions, and device hardware.
DriveRef does not automatically share your information with DriveRef App or other organizations.
The app may allow you to export or share a trip-data file using applications and services installed on your device. Sharing occurs only when you choose to initiate it.
Once you share or save an exported file outside DriveRef, that copy is handled by the application, service, or storage location you selected and is subject to its own privacy practices.
Trip records and settings remain stored locally until you delete them, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app.
You can delete individual trip records or clear trip history from within DriveRef.
Uninstalling DriveRef or clearing its application data generally removes information stored inside the app. Files that you exported or saved elsewhere may remain in those locations until you delete them separately.
Because DriveRef does not operate user accounts or receive locally stored trip information, DriveRef App cannot remotely retrieve or delete that information for you.
DriveRef is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
Because the app does not require an account or transmit personal information to DriveRef App, it does not knowingly maintain personal information about children.
A parent, guardian, instructor, or other responsible adult should supervise use by younger drivers as appropriate.
DriveRef provides general motion feedback only.
It is not a driving instructor, vehicle safety system, emergency service, or substitute for attentive driving.
DriveRef’s default feedback thresholds are intended for normal driving on dry, paved roads. The app does not determine whether a maneuver is safe for current road, traffic, weather, vehicle, tire, or visibility conditions.
Set up, mount, calibrate, and operate the app only while safely parked. Do not hold, read, adjust, or interact with the phone while operating a vehicle. A passenger should operate the app whenever interaction is required.
The driver remains fully responsible for safely operating the vehicle and complying with applicable laws.
DriveRef is designed to keep app data on the user’s device rather than transmitting it to DriveRef App.
However, no device, application, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting access to their devices and any exported files.
DriveRef may use operating-system functions to save or share files at your request. Those functions may display third-party applications installed on your device.
DriveRef App does not control the privacy practices of third-party applications or services you choose to use.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when DriveRef’s features or data practices change.
The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material revisions are made.
