Welcome to Drink Water Reminder ("we," "our," or "the App"), published under K.L. DevStudio. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our Android application.
Our app is built with a privacy-first approach. We do not require you to create an account, and your hydration records are never stored on our external servers.
Hydration Logs: Information about your daily water intake, hydration goals, reminder settings, and sleep schedule is saved locally on your device using Android DataStore. We do not upload this data to any servers.
Calendar Integration (Optional): If you enable Meeting Mode and grant calendar access, the app checks whether you are currently in a scheduled event. This check happens entirely on your device in real-time. Your calendar data is never read, stored, or transmitted outside your phone.
To help us fix performance bugs and improve the overall user experience, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous usage statistics.
What is collected: App interaction data (such as features used and screens opened) and a unique app instance identifier generated by Google.
What is NOT collected: We do not receive your name, email address, phone number, contact lists, or precise location data.
No Tracking IDs: We do not track or use Android Advertising IDs ($AAID$) for advertising purposes.
Google processes this data in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy. You can manage or limit this data collection at any time via your Google Account Data Settings.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs or display ads in the app.
We do not maintain cloud backups of your personal logs.
Optional Purchases: If you choose to tip the developer to support app development, payments are securely processed entirely through the Google Play Billing system. We never see or store your payment card details.
To provide core functionality, the App requests the following permissions:
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To send you timely reminders to stay hydrated.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: To ensure your configured hydration reminders trigger precisely at the scheduled times.
USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT: To display an immersive reminder UI when your device is locked, ensuring you don't miss a critical hydration window.
READ_CALENDAR (Optional): Used locally by the Meeting Mode feature to automatically silence reminder alarms during your scheduled calendar events.
Because your data is strictly localized, we do not have a centralized database from which to manually delete your history. You have total control over your information.
You can permanently delete all your tracking history, streaks, and settings using any of the following methods:
In-App Factory Reset: Open the app and navigate to Settings $\rightarrow$ Danger Zone $\rightarrow$ Reset All Data. This immediately wipes the local database.
Clear Android Storage: Go to your phone's Settings $\rightarrow$ Apps $\rightarrow$ Drink Water Reminder $\rightarrow$ Storage $\rightarrow$ click Clear Data / Clear Storage.
Uninstall the App: Completely removing the App from your device automatically deletes its secure private storage space and all associated records.
Since analytics data is handled anonymously by Google, you can request data restrictions or management directly through Google's centralized dashboard:
Our App does not knowingly collect any data from children. Because all hydration tracking is managed locally on the device without user accounts, we have no mechanism to identify or track the age of our users. We encourage parents and guardians to oversee the app settings of minors.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect app updates or regulatory changes. Any modifications will be made public by updating the "Last Updated" date at the very top of this page.
