I was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan. I did my schooling from Tagore Public School, Jaipur, where I was a meritorious student throughout. I topped CBSE in class XII in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. I was selected in Premedical test and qualified for MBBS degree from the reputed Dr. S. N. Medical College, at Jodhpur. I cleared pre PG entrance exam in first attempt and entered the prestigious PGIMER institute at Chandigarh. I did my training in Internal Medicine followed by training in Cardiology from the same institute. I was fortunate to be trained by the best in the field of Medicine and Cardiology. The experience I gained while serving variety of patients and procedural skills I acquired during Internal Medicine residency helped me immensely in developing a methodical approach towards patient treatment. This helped in in my training in Cardiology. I realized, then, why these streams are called subspecialities, rather than super-specialities of Internal Medicine, because a strong foundation of Internal Medicine, helps one grow in the respective sub-sepciality. After finishing my MD and DM, I joined at Ivy Hospital, Nawanshahr, where I pioneered in being the first Cardiologist in the Punjab (excluding Tricity) to implant 3T MRI Pacemaker, first one to use Catheter directed pharmacomechanical treatment for Pulmonary embolism, first one to use Catheter directed thrombolysis (CDT) for acute limb ischemia, and first one to use intra-arterial thrombolysis for acute stroke patients in the region. I moved to United States and trained further at Mount Sinai group of Hospitals in New York. I was awarded fellowship by Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, (SCAI) and American College of Cardiology (ACC).
I have several publications in reputed International Journals and have presented the quality work at various national and international platforms of highest standards.
My goal is to serve people and society in the best possible way, I can. Its important for an Intervention Cardiologist to remember:-
" One should do what SHOULD be done, and NOT what COULD be done"
