DR. HARPREET SINGH
Dr. Harpreet Singh is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department at Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, India. Before the current assignment, he was an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing Jabalpur during 2017-22. He did Ph.D. from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. His research interests are broadly related to advancement of precision machining processes, nano finishing science and technology, green manufacturing methods, additive manufacuring, microwave processing of metals and composites, polymer processing and PMCs, materials processing & characterizations. He is the first researchers in the world to proposed and developed a pulse DC supply controlled and ultrasonic vibration assisted ECH machine. Presently, he along with his research group is working for the new era of nanofinishing science and technology namely CMMRAF for biomedical applications which is firstly proposed of nanofinishing of complex shapes. His research group is also giving tremendous contributions to study the green manufacturing process like microwave heating of metals, alloys and composites and establish near-to-net shape manufacturing possibilities. Similarly, studies on PMCs using graphite and aluminum oxide; and natural composites gives a remarkable data for genuine improvements in the defense and gear industries. He has over 16 years of research and teaching experience at UG and PG levels. He has published more than 75 research papers in International peer reviewed journals of repute, National and International conferences in India and abroad, 06 sponsored research projects, and 03 patents. He has also guided a number of of Ph.D. (Awarded 03, Ongoing 05), M.Tech (Awarded 18, Ongoing 03), B.Tech (6 Month Intern. Project: Awarded 39, Ongoing 02) students. He is a reviewer for various government-funded projects and leading International journals of repute. He has been a resource person and delivered invited lectures in several National and International Conferences, STTP’s, and QIP programs.
