Art Fund Museum of the Year Winner, 2022
The Horniman Museum's application showcased a number of our achievements, including several projects I directly contributed to. I used specialist knowledge as Senior Curator of Natural Sciences to feed into the Museum’s Climate and Ecology Manifesto, and to produce content for our Environment Champions Community online, which aims to connect young families to the natural world and encourage and empower them to be advocates for change. Tying into the Horniman’s Climate Intervention, as well as programming to coincide with COP26, I designed and ran a workshop on climate change and environmental messaging for secondary schools for the 2021 Kids in Museums Takeover Day and converted the children’s outputs into digital content which increased our web traffic by 200%.
