Research Experiance
Postdoctoral Scientist at Interdisciplinary Centre for Water Research (ICWaR), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore from April 2019 - February 2021
I worked on the regional climate modeling of Bangalore and future projection using the WRF model on the project entitled ”Impact assessment of climate and land-use/land-cover changes on hydrology and stormwater drain network of Bangalore urban area.”•
WRF3.9.1 model is ported and configured in high-performance computing (HPC) platforms Cray-XC40 in Supercomputer Education and Research Centre, IISc.
Simulated WRF output over the domain Southern Peninsular India using lateral boundary conditions from ERA-Interim reanalysis data
Research Analyst at Skymet Weather Services, Noida, UP from Jan 2019-Mar 2019
configure and ported WRF 4.0 in Microsoft Azure cloud and updated the crontab scripts for running model and producing weather plots.•
Analyzed the daily weather data and its visualization and interpretation
Project Scientist C at Centre for Atmospheric Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi from Feb 2017-Mar 2018
I worked on the project entitled “Setup of weather@home regional climate model, and application of the model to test cases and real-time attribution analysis”•
I configured weather@home HadRM3P regional climate model for ensemble simulations for extreme weather events attribution analysis.
Analyzed the heatwaves, and severe heat waves, over India in the 1.5°C and 2°C warmer worlds.
Junior Research Fellow at Centre for Atmospheric Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi from Jan 2011-Jan 2012
I worked on the project entitled “Development of a framework for systematic model diagnosis”•
We developed and implemented a Python based framework for live monitoring and diagnosis of the weather forecast and phenomena like MJO & MISO.•
Implemented this framework for the Global Forecast Model currently operational at NCMRWF
Project Assistant at CSIR - National Institute of Oceanography, Regional Center Kochi from Jun 2008-Dec 2010
I worked on the project entitled “Ecosystem modeling of the Cochin backwaters”•
As a part of the project, I contributed to the development of the ecosystem model for the test site predicting chlorophyll and zooplankton production for Cochin backwater.•
Analyzed the Tide gauge, Current Meter, CTD data and digitized the map of Cochin backwater using ArcGIS
