Dr. David Burkett is a distinguished cardiologist renowned for his expertise in general cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, echocardiography, and non-invasive cardiology. Dr. Burkett's educational pathway commenced at Southern Methodist University, where he obtained a B.S. in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering. His pursuit of medical knowledge continued at LSU HSC School of Medicine in New Orleans, followed by a comprehensive training program encompassing an internship, residency, and a fellowship in Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He concluded his formal education with a Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
A dedicated researcher, He has focused on innovative cardiac ablation techniques for managing atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias. His research has significantly advanced the field, providing more effective and less invasive patient treatment options.
Dr. Burkett has earned numerous accolades for his professional excellence and innovation in cardiology. Notably, he was named the "Best Practicing Cardiologist" in West Monroe and was a pioneer in introducing advanced cardiac devices in the U.S. He is an active member of several leading medical associations, including the American Medical Association and the American Heart Association.
