Michael Freeman

It all began with a cartoon Santa Claus that Michael drew when he was five years old. His talent was realized by his family and friends. Michael enjoyed drawing superheroes, scary creatures and science fiction.

After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in animation at Rochester Institute of Technology, he worked freelance before landing a full time job as an animator and artist. Through the years he gained background experience in illustration, design and animation. His favorite software programs are Procreate and Adobe Photoshop.

Currently, Michael teaches middle and high school animation and art. He loves creating art with technology. His classroom is a hybrid of both computer lab and traditional art class. For more than six years, he has gone paperless and creates digital artworks on his touchscreen tablet and a stylus (iPad/Apple Pencil).

Michael and his family reside in Jacksonville, Florida. He is a supportive husband and father who loves to play with his two young daughters. He collects Star Wars action figures and searches for korok seeds in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch.
