This Privacy Policy explains how Draw Anything ("we," "us," or "the App") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App on iOS. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
When you create an account or sign in, we collect:
Sign-in credentials — Apple Sign In identifiers or email addresses (your choice). We do not store passwords directly; authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication.
Profile information — display name, username, avatar color, optional profile photo, badges, and stats.
Drawings and strokes — the marks you make on the canvas, the words you choose, the messages you attach to drawings, and the guesses you submit.
Custom words — words you type into the custom-word entry sheet and any votes you cast in the weekly Word Poll.
Game state — opponents, scores, streaks, ratings you give to drawings, and the time and date of each round.
Daily Mode submissions — when one of your drawings is rated four stars or higher and is eligible for the next day's Daily Mode pool, it may be shown anonymously to other players (subject to your Daily Mode privacy settings).
Friends and blocks — the players you add, remove, or block.
Chat messages — direct messages you exchange with other players.
Reports — content you flag for moderation and the reason you provide.
Device identifiers — Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) tokens and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens used to deliver push notifications.
Crash and diagnostic data — anonymized stack traces collected via Firebase Crashlytics.
App Tracking Transparency (ATT) — if you grant tracking permission, we may use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) to deliver more relevant ads. If you decline, ads still appear but are not personalized using cross-app identifiers.
In-app purchases — Apple processes payments through StoreKit. We receive a confirmation of which items you own (Remove Ads, coin packs, dynamite packs) but never see your payment-method details.
We use the information we collect to:
Create and maintain your account.
Match you with opponents (including via Quick Play, which prioritizes players who have been active in the last 48 hours, then within the last week).
Deliver gameplay — saving drawings to Firestore so opponents receive them, syncing game state across devices, and computing leaderboards.
Send push notifications about turns, drawings sent, nudges, friend requests, and round results.
Show drawings rated four stars or higher (anonymously) in the next day's Daily Mode pool, unless you opt out in Settings → Privacy → Hide From Daily Mode.
Process custom-word drawings into the Daily pool only when you have explicitly opted in via Settings → Privacy → Include My Custom Words.
Operate and improve the App, including responding to crash reports and resolving content reports.
Comply with legal obligations.
We share information only as described below; we never sell your personal information.
With other players — your display name, username, avatar, badges, online status, drawings, chat messages, and (when applicable) Daily Mode entries are visible to the players you interact with or who see your content in the Daily Mode pool.
With service providers — Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Storage, Crashlytics), Google AdMob (advertising), and Apple StoreKit (in-app purchases). These providers process information on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.
For legal reasons — when required to comply with law, respond to legal process, or protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.
Anonymous aggregates — drawings shown in Daily Mode are presented without the drawer's identity attached.
The App is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.
Edit or delete your profile — Profile → Edit lets you change your display name, username, color, and photo.
Delete your account — Settings → Account → Delete Account permanently removes your account and associated data.
Sign out — Settings → Account → Sign Out ends the session on this device.
Mute notifications — Settings → Game Feel → Notifications turns off in-app banners; iOS Settings → Notifications → Draw Anything controls system-wide push delivery.
Hide from Daily Mode — Settings → Privacy → Hide From Daily Mode prevents any of your drawings from entering the public Daily pool.
Custom-word sharing — OFF by default. Settings → Privacy → Include My Custom Words lets you opt your custom-word drawings into the Daily pool.
Block users — Settings → Privacy → Block List or in any 3-dot menu next to a player.
Report content — every drawing surface includes a flag icon to report inappropriate content.
ATT and ad personalization — iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Draw Anything; iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, friends list, blocks, notifications, and chat messages. Some information may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days, and certain aggregated, anonymized records (such as drawings already shown in past Daily Mode pools) may be retained for service integrity.
We protect information using industry-standard security practices, including encrypted transport (TLS) for all data in transit and Google Cloud's encryption-at-rest for stored data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Draw Anything is operated from the United States. By using the App, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have data-protection laws different from your country of residence.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy here with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be surfaced in-app where appropriate.
