There are a lot of shops there, especially high-end ones!

Padua is actually older than Rome, possibly the oldest city in Italy.
The city center as a beautiful park with statues all along a mote of water, making it nice to walk around.
Shakespere's play, The Taming of the Shrew, is based in Padova.
There are a lot of churches ranging from Baroque to Medieval!
There are very cool Ancient Roman ruins to visit.
The city is more traditional and quiet.
There's a monastery there, so don't be surprised to see monks roaming about.
The traditional pasta there is casoncelli, which is ravioli filled with parmesan cheese and meat, seasoned with butter and sage.
From Verona, it's only an 8 euro trip, to and from there!
The main Medieval church is circular and has a basement with original frescoes and foundation.Â
Florence is a UNESCO heritage site, protecting the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.
If you plan on going up into the dome of the duomo, make sure you are not claustrophobic! There are very few windows and the stairway is tight.
Visit the leather markets! You can find some really neat things.
Since the buildings are so large, it's cold since you're always in the shade, but summer is really hot.
To see the Statue of David, go to the tourist shops across the street from the museum. Tickets are cheaper than online, they are good for the entire day, and they offer student discount!
Definitely cover up here! Florence is much more conservative on how people are dressed, even in museums.
Pit-pocketing is very common! Keep valuables close.
Be aware of tourist traps! They are all over the city!
There are a lot of bridges, meaning there are a lot of stairs! Be prepared.
There are no scooters or bikes. Be prepared to walk everywhere or take a boat taxi (which are very expensive).
Be respectful of the city! If you litter and are caught, you can be fined!

GPS barely works here and it's easy to get lost1 Don't be scared to ask locals for directions.
Gondola rides are cheaper in the morning and are much more beautiful as you can see all the buildings and people walking around!
Eating out is a bit more expensive.

*Venice is also a great place to spend the night! The city is very safe, there are restaurants everywhere, and mostly everyone speaks English!
Cinque Terre is a bit of a further travel place, sometimes taking the entire day! You'll want to rest after a day's worth of sitting on a trains.
Cinque Terre is made of up of 5 cities; Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore.
You can take trains to each of the five cities, but hiking you get to see all the ocean views!
If you're hiking, wear hiking or any closed toe shoes! The shoes cannot have heels. If the personnel do not approve of your shoes, they will turn you away.
When taking the trains, buy your ticket each and every time, even if the train ride is 5 minutes! I got ticekted for a 3 minute train ride for 60 euro. Just pay the 5 euro ticket.
Take a swimsuit! You are able to jump and swim in the water!
Disney's Luca was based on the city of Vernazza!
It is relatively safe here! Just stick to the main city centers.
Food in Rome is DELICIOUS!
When tossing a coin into the Fountain of Trevi, use your left hand, over your right shoulder.
Be respectful at sites. Police are everywhere!
Cover up! Rome is full of churches.
Keep valuables close. Pit-pocketing is insane here! Also, research on the latest pit-pocketing schemes. They're clever!
Sometimes buying a tour to the Vatican and Sistine Chapel is worth it just to get into the doors quicker.
The Colosseum is very impressive on the inside!
Vatican City is it's own country!
Lemons are huge!
Sorrento is very close to Naples and Pompeii.
Sorrento is known as Land of Mermaids, or the City of Orange and Lemon Groves.
Little shops are in alleyways, where you can get cheap souvenirs.
Keep in mind, Sorrento is a bit more diccicult to travel to. Do research before planning a trip!
Limoncello liquer is made here!
It used to be a Greek city until the Romans came and built on top.
The public train system is great!
There are many high-end stores! If you want to go in, make sure to dress nicer.
They do not allow backpacks in the duomo.

Milan is the wealthiest city in Italy!

These cities are very close to Germany!
Otzi, the oldest mummy, is in a museum in Bolzano!
Loacker cookies are from this region and are very tasty!
Trento and Bolzano are Medieval towns.
The Dolomites are close and you can ski/snowboard there!
Many people in Bolzano speak German.
They are cities more geared to older people. The cities are very calm.
