We are also putting together a new Young Peoples Disaster Risk Reduction Project for SACFS, so we’d also like to chat about what’s worked in other jurisdictions,

• Preparing to start research with Cairns region schools on their individual preparedness for disasters and barriers/motivators for including DRE in teaching.

• Development of strong ongoing relationships between DRE and the Water/Waste and Sustainability education programmes within Cairns Regional Council. We are finding ways to link and complement each other’s work through projects such as catchment management and drain management.
