Dr. Anup Kesavan completed his PhD from School of Biotechnology, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. Later he did his Postdoctoral fellowship from Centre for Tuberculosis, School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA. At Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Kesavan worked on latency and reactivation of Mycobacterium tuberculosis using rabbit model. In 2011 he moved back to India and joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. In 2020, Dr. Kesavan joined as a Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology, Kannur University. Here he is working on
1) The molecular aspects of flavoproteins and its regulation in Mycobacterium smegmatis
2) Characterization of cold protease from various Bacillus species
3) Identification and screening of new electrogenic bacteria from nature.
TOPIC: Functional characterization of MSMEG-5136 (Rv0080) gene from Mycobacterium smegmatis
Ms. Manjusha completed her MSc in Microbiology from Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology, Kannur University in 2020. Currently she is pursuing her PhD in Microbiology, working on the characterization of flavoprotein genes in Mycobacterium smegmatis.

Ms. Anusha completed her MSc in Microbiology from Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology, Kannur University in 2020. She is doing her PhD in Microbiology, working on novel protease from Bacillus sp. isolated from Western Ghats.
