With over a decade of dedicated service in agricultural research and rural development, I am a Senior Scientist specializing in Agricultural Extension at the ICAR-Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna. My work focuses on Farmers participatory approaches, innovative extension models, sustainable farming systems, farmer-led innovations, and institutional development, particularly for smallholder and tribal farmers.

I'm Dr. Anirban Mukherjee working as a Senior Scientist in Agricultural Extension at ICAR-Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna. My work revolves around empowering smallholder and tribal farmers, developing farmer-led organizations, and designing participatory models that bring real change to rural communities.
Since joining ICAR in 2013, I’ve had the privilege of working on diverse landscapes—from the Himalayan hills to the Eastern Gangetic Plains. My journey has allowed me to lead or contribute to over 20 impactful research projects, publish 50+ scientific articles, and co-develop scalable tools and technologies that bridge science and society.
As the Chief Editor of Food and Scientific Reports, I strongly believe in making research understandable, relatable, and actionable—not just for academics, but for farmers, students, policymakers, and innovators.
