Sponsored by the National New Play Network (NNPN), the New Play Exchange (NPX) is an essential resource for contemporary theatre. Here are some tips for using NPX as a teaching resource.

Access: NPX offers library subscriptions for colleges and universities, so consider discussing this with your librarian. It would also be possible to require students to purchase a one-year Reader account.

Search Functions: There are numerous ways to search NPX for new plays: length, genre, cast size, etc. Have students experiment with different search options.

Discover Playwrights: Instructors might curate specific playwrights for students to research.

Create a Profile: Under Artistic Profile, there is a checkbox to indicate "Available for Freelance Dramaturgy."
