Why Use It?
If you want students to move elements together, like a picture and a term, grouping elements makes it easier for students to move around the Slide.
How To:
Drag your cursor over all the elements you want to group or hold down the Ctrl key and click all the elements you want to group.
Make sure you only get the elements you need
Right-click and select "Group" to group the elements together
You can also use the shortcut key "Ctrl + Alt + G"
If you ever decide to remove the grouping, you can click on it and select "Ungroup"
Why Use It?
If you are having students circle an answer or they are frequently reusing an element on the Slide, you will want to consider creating multiple copies so they can use the element several times.
How To:
Create the element you want to be re-used
Copy the element and paste it several times
Drag to highlight over each of the pasted elements or hold Ctrl and click on each element
Right-click and select "Align vertically"
Right-click again and select "Align horizontally"
The items will appear as one, but when one is moved, another is still available to use
Why Use It?
If you want students to self-check their work if they're doing practice assignments, this is a way to build in the answer key option within Google Slides
How To:
Create X or ✔ circles to show the correct and incorrect answers
Place the answer key next to the multiple-choice options
Drag to highlight the answer key. Right-click and select "Order" and then "Send to Back"
While the answer key is still highlighted, right-click and select "Animate"
Set the animation so the first option appears "on click" and the rest follow "with previous"
Create multiple choice option answers by creating a circle and adding the letter to it
Drag the multiple-choice options over the answer key so they are covered
Hold down the ctrl key and select all the multiple-choice answer shapes
Right-click and select "Animate"
Make sure all the multiple-choice answers are set to disappear "with previous"
