This multimedia reporting was done in hopes to educate and inform the public about the need and value that animal fostering has on local animal shelters. In Mount Pleasant, there are two animal shelters-- The Humane Animal Treatment Society and the Karma Kat Cafe. H.A.T.S. is the official animal shelter of Mount Pleasant, meaning they receive the stray dogs and cats picked up by animal control. These two shelter are often at or near maximum capacity due to the number of strays in the area.
Fostering animals is a way for people to take some pressure off the shelter workers and help an animal acclimate and experience a safe and loving home environment. In this project, the need and benefit of fostering to these two shelters, and the impact fostering can have on animals is covered.
