Biography
Prof Yogarajah Nanthagopan is the present Dean and Professor in Project Management at the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Vavuniya, Sri Lanka. He obtained his PhD in Project Management from Bournemouth University, UK. Nanthagopan is the founder and the first coordinator of the Project Management (PM) degree programme at the Faculty of Business Studies. This PM degree programme is the pioneering undergraduate programme in Sri Lanka.
Nanthagopan has 20 years of experience in teaching and consulting in Business and Project Management. He has served as a consultant in more than fifteen projects of national and international organisations. He has published more than twenty-five research articles in indexed and peer-reviewed scientific journals and has presented more than thirty research papers at national and international research conferences. He is the author of a textbook titled Project Management Fundamentals. His research interests include project management, organisational development, and strategic management.
Experienced Senior Lecturer with a demonstrated history in teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the course units of project management, strategic management, operations management, marketing and human resource management.
Accomplished professional and consulting career reflects fifteen years’ experience in organizational development, capacity building, small and medium enterprises development, strategic planning and project management in private and non-governmental organizations.
Innovative training and development professional with extensive experience in the needs analysis, design, delivery, and enhancement of effective instructional programs and project management assessment tools.
Effective consultant in identifying the organizational problems and find solutions to position the organization in a strategic place.
