TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been involved in training post graduates in cardiology and internal medicine. I conduct continued medical education once in a month for general practitioners and physicians in our area. Over the last two years I have presented more than 20 seminars, 30 journal clubs and over a hundred bedside case discussions.
I am involved in training junior colleagues, MD residents and DM senior registrars. I conduct regular bedside clinics, seminars, journal clubs for the DM trainees.

Pariyaram Medical College is a 1500 bedded multispecialty medical college run by govt. with an annual intake of 100 medical students. There are also dental, pharmacy, nursing college and many other paramedical courses run in this institution. The medicine department has post graduate trainee program with 4 residencies posting yearly.
Cardiology department is under the name of Sahakarana Hrudayalaya with 150 bedded inpatient facilities. There are two cardiology units each has 4 cardiologists. We have cardiology post graduate training programme (DM Cardiology). We have 2 well equipped cath labs, echo lab, 35 bedded coronary care unit. We perform around 2500 interventions and around 4500 angiograms yearly. There is a cardiothoracic surgery unit with cardiothoracic surgeons and 2 cardiac anesthetists.
I was working as Professor of Cardiology and Senior Interventional Cardiologist. I am actively involved in training cardiac intervention to my fellows and junior colleagues. I performed around 700 angiograms and around 425 PCI every year. I also perform peripheral intervention, pacemaker implantations including Artificial Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator, Atrail Septal Defect and Patent Ductus Arteriosus Device Closures, Balloon Mitral Valvotomy and Pulmonary Valvotomy. Recently I performed a uterine artery embolization.

Working as consultant interventional cardiologist at General Hospital, Ernakulam. This is 400 bedded hospital with two cath labs and 46 ICU beds and 40 IP beds exclusively for cardiology. Around 500 angiograms and 300 angioplasties are being done monthly here. All types of complex angioplasties are done here. IVUS, OCT Rotablator are available here.
HUT, TEE are done, whenever needed. Two DNB (cardiology) students are admitted per year. Clinical presentations/ Topic presentations/ Journal club are done every day. Bedside case discussions are done twice a week.
Peripheral angioplasty, ASD device closure, PDA device closure, Balloon pulmonary Valvotomy are also being done here.
