This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals and advanced principles of Surface Engineering, covering surface energy and interface phenomena, surface defects and mechanical treatments, chemical and electrochemical modification, thermal and diffusion-based engineering, PVD, CVD and ALD techniques, sol–gel processing and thin-film fabrication, hydrothermal surface engineering and leaching, plasma-based modification, laser surface engineering and texturing, self-assembled monolayers and functional coatings, surface characterization techniques, corrosion, wear and tribological performance, and their applications in energy, catalysis, and sensor technologies.
