BRIEF SYNOPSIS OF THE THESIS
Assuming linear theory, some water wave scattering and generation problems have been studied. The scattering problems involve various types of discontinuities at the upper surface along with undulating bottom topography while the wave generation problems involves small bottom undulations, running stream and floating ice-cover. Also wave-free potentials in finite depth water have been derived.
