Dr. Nuha Aljuneidi
Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University · Daytona Beach
Researcher in thermal energy storage, sustainable building systems, HVAC, and intelligent simulation.
THE QUESTION THAT DRIVES MY WORK
How can thermal systems store, move, and use energy more intelligently?
I explore this question through phase-change materials, building-energy simulation, HVAC, computational fluid dynamics, experiments, and AI-assisted optimization. The goal is practical: technologies that waste less energy and perform better in the real world.
MY JOURNEY, IN THREE CHAPTERS
01 · JORDAN — DESIGN BECAME PURPOSE
Mechanical engineering, renewable energy, and years of hands-on building-systems design taught me to connect theory with the realities of practice.
02 · FLORIDA — RESEARCH BECAME DISCOVERY
At Embry-Riddle, my doctoral work combined experiments, analytical models, and CFD to advance phase-change-material heat exchangers for thermal energy storage.
03 · MICHIGAN — AN IDEA BECAME A LAB
At LTU, I founded the Smart Building Energy Dynamics Lab from the ground up—its research vision, teaching infrastructure, and student-mentoring program. It remains a meaningful chapter of work I created; I am no longer affiliated with LTU.
NOW · BACK AT EMBRY-RIDDLE
As an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering in Daytona Beach, I teach, mentor, and continue building the next chapter of my research.
