I am an experimental physicist, whose research interests focus on complex materials for optical and acoustic waves. For instance, I study the properties of scattering media subject to strong disorder (e.g., random lasers, diffusing media) and their ability to generate or guide light. In that regard, I develop external-control schemes aiming to shape non-trivial properties (e.g., topological effects) in complex environments. Through nonlinear effects, I also investigate the self-organisation and synchronisation of random systems to assemble crystal-like orders and regularise the propagation of waves through disorder. At last, in multiple-scattering environments, I currently explore the use of spatially shaped fields to generate optical forces that cool-down complex many-body systems composed of nano-objects with non-trivial geometries.
